A man is due to appear in court this morning charged in connection with a serious assault in Carlow.
The man in his 20s was arrested after Gardai attended a house in Tullow following reports of an altercation in the early hours of Monday morning.
A man, with apparent stab wounds, was taken to Saint Luke's Hospital in Kilkenny where his condition is being described as serious but stable.
In a follow up operation, a house in the Tullow area was searched by Gardai and drugs worth close to €500,000 were found.

The case is before Carlow District Court this morning.
