A man in his 50s has died after getting into difficulty at Dublin's Forty Foot.
Gardaí and the Irish Coast Guard were called to the popular swimming spot shortly after 2.30pm.
A number of people offered assistance and the man was taken to Sandycove Point.
He was transferred by ambulance to St Vincent's Hospital where he passed away later this afternoon.
