A man has been charged with assault following an alleged assault in Co.Waterford.
The man in his 20s will come before a special sitting of the Waterford District Court this afternoon after a man in his 50s was left unconscious after an alleged assault in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The incident happened on Lower Strand Street, Tramore shortly after 2.00am.
The man in his 50s was brought to University Hospital Waterford where he remains in a critical condition.

Gardai say there was a large crowd in the area at the time waiting for taxis and appealing for witnesses who were in the area after 2 am on Saturday morning.
