The Lodger Movie to launch in Wexford

A movie premiere is set to take place in Wexford this evening.

The launch of The Lodgers film takes place in the Arc Cinema, Wexford at 8 pm sharp.

The first screening of the new Irish gothic ghost story takes place tonight in Wexford, where the entire film was shot. The film was filmed in Loftus Hall, Ireland's most haunted house, as well as other locations across Wexford namely Tintern Abbey. Johnstown Castle and Clongeen.

The film is set in 1920s rural Ireland and sees Anglo Irish twins Rachel and Edward share a strange existence in their family estate with a supernatural power. The supernatural power known as 'The Lodger' enforces three rules upon the twins: they must be in bed by midnight, they may not permit an outsider past the threshold, and they must always stay together.

The film is certified 15A.

Julianne Ford, one of the film producers says Wexford played a huge role in the film:

"We actually have a lot of people involved from all the various locations in Wexford that we filmed in. We got a lot of extras and crew members from Wexford so the premiere is basically to thank all of the people from Wexford who made the film possible".
