A learner driver has had their vehicle seized after being clocked travelling at 154 kilometres per hour in Kilkenny.
The driver, who was travelling on the M9 yesterday afternoon, was caught on a speed camera by Gardaí from the Thomastown’s Road Policing unit.
After persuing and stopping the driver, members of the Gardaí Síochána found that the driver was unaccompanied and driving on a learner permit.
Drivers on learner permits are not permitted to drive on motorways, or without a fully qualified driver accompanying them.

The driver was also travelling with no insurance.
Gardaí have confirmed that a prosecution will follow, while their vehicle was seized.
