Over this festive period, most of us will have lots of food floating around the house after the Christmas dinner and you might be planning to feed your leftovers to your pets.
But not all food is safe for your furry friends to eat.
Some human food can cause digestive upsets in dogs which is unpleasant but some are far more dangerous and can even result in death.
Emily Miller from Petmania Kilkenny recommends having pet safe foods in stock as an alternative.
"Stay away from the human treats, puppy dog eyes looking at you when you're tucking into your quality street. No. Chocolate is really not a runner for the dogs because it can be quite toxic for them so we really would say to people, you know your pet is going to be there and want a treat as you tuck in so just make sure you have a stock of something that is pet safe"
