A Kilkenny winner has struck big, winning a cool €500k on the All Cash Extravaganza scratchcard from the National Lottery.
The card was bought on Tuesday 29 March from Supervalu on Greystone Street in Carrick-on-Suir in the neighbouring Tipperary.
The winner – who wishes to remain private – was enjoying a well-deserved day off from work as he collected his prize from National Lottery HQ this morning.
Despite the obvious excitement of winning, the man was planning to take his time and digest the win before making any decisions about how to spend the prize: ‘I think I’ll just head home, sit down and let it all sink in for a while’.

He did, however, admit that he will certainly still buy the odd scratchcard from time to time.
