A Kilkenny man living in Carrick-on-Suir is hoping to go on a Winning Streak this weekend as he will appear on the National Lottery TV game show, this Saturday.
Martin Walsh was watching Joe Schmidt’s Ireland rugby team defeat Argentina last Saturday when his phone started ringing off the hook as his name was simultaneously called out by Marty Whelan and Sinead Kennedy on the Winning Streak TV
Celebrations started in earnest when Martin finally answered a call from his mother-in-law to inform him of his once in a lifetime appearance on Winning Streak.
Martin has been married to his childhood sweetheart, Caitriona for 27 years after they met at a children’s summer playschool in Carrick on Suir where they both worked as instructors.
IT worker Martin who is a proud Kilkenny man has three boys, Aaron (28), Lorcan (16) and Rory (13) and he plans to use any winnings from his Winning Streak appearance to put towards a college fund for Lorcan and Rory.
Martin will be supported in the Winning Streak audience by his parents, Sean and Josephine and his brother who is also called Sean. Also cheering on Kilkenny man, Martin on Saturday night are his in-laws who are staunch Tipperary supporters!
