Gardaí were left speechless yesterday when they caught one driver speeding on the M9 motorway in Kilkenny.
While on patrol, officers were conducting speed checks and clocked one motorist doing 169km per hour on the M9.
The speed limit for this stretch of road is 120km per hour, with the motorist exceeding this by nearly 50km per hour.
Gardaí also discovered that the driver in question was a Novice Driver.
Gardaí posted the incident on Facebook, where they were left stunned.

Elsewhere in the South East, a similar speeding offence was committed in Waterford.
While on patrol yesterday afternoon, the Roads Policing Unit in Waterford detected a car driving at a speed of 154km per hour in a 100km per zone.
Gardaí stopped the driver was stopped and a Fixed Charge Notice was issued.
