Authorities across the region are still dealing with the fallout from Ophelia.
Update 4:00pm - Kilkenny
The Canal Walk in Kilkenny City is closed to pedestrians due to fallen trees and will remain closed until tomorrow at the earliest. Please avoid the area.
Fallen trees and wires were reported on 60 roads in Kilkenny as a result of yesterday’s severe weather event. Five roads remain closed to traffic due to continuing works as follows;
· Rathpatrick - Power lines, ESB crew required
· R703 Thomastown to Graiguenamanagh – tree surgeons required
· Stoneyford to Thomastown at Norelands – 3 separate crews working to remove 8 large fallen trees
· Ballintlea Mullinavat – Power lines, ESB crew required
· Ballyneale to Inistioge - Tree removal underway
