Peter Casey has secured his first council nomination from Kerry County Council in his bid for the Presidency.
The independent hopeful said he is extremely grateful for the support and he looks forward to securing the backing of three more councils to become a candidate.
The businessman will be attending Limerick and Tipperary councils tomorrow.
It comes after artist Kevin Sharkey withdrew from the race to secure a presidential nomination today.
