It's Daffodil Day for the Irish Cancer Society

The Irish Cancer Society has come up with a way to try to recover some of the money it will lose after the cancellation of Daffodil Day.

The annual event raises around €4m every year to help fund the society's support services.

But due to the current pandemic, the charity felt in the interest of the safety of volunteers, it was best to cancel this year's campaign.

Chief Executive, Averil Power, says the charity will be running a fundraiser with a difference today:

"Today we're running a digital daffodil day. People can donate any amount that they like on cancer.ie, and download a digital daffodil to share on their social media."
