The ISPCA is appealing for struggling pet owners in the region to ask for help rather than neglect an animal.
The ISPCA provides edicational services, support and assistance in the South East.
The appeal comes after a man in Tipperary was recently convicted of failing to safeguard the welfare of his pet dog at Clonmel District Court.
They've also appealed to pet owners in the South East to be mindful of high temperatures when it comes to the well-being of their pets.
Very warm weather is expected this week in the region.
Leaving pets in cars can be extremely dangerous as temperatures can rise extremely quickly within 15 minutes, which is more than enough time for a dog to get heat stroke.
Alice Leacy, ISPCA animal welfare inspector for Waterford and Tipperary says people in the South East can contact the ISPCA helpline if they have any concerns or notice any animals left in cars:
"We have an anonymous help line so everything is treated completely confidentially and you can give the address of the person or whatever information that we request in order to do the call.
A lot of the time we do go on these calls and find that it is quite serious.
If someone is unsure about something or they think something is happening or an animal is in need of care then call the helpline which is 1890 515 515"
