An Irishman has died while kitesurfing in Thailand.
It's understood the 43-year-old had been living in the country for a number of years.
Officials had warned against watersports at sea due to an approaching typhoon.
The Department of Foreign Affairs says its aware of the situation and is providing consular assistance.
