A passenger has died on a train from Waterford to Dublin today.
The man was on board the 7.50 am service from Plunkett Station to Heuston Station when he became seriously ill.
The train was stopped for a number of hours near Mullinavat while he was being treated by paramedics before it returned to Waterford station.

Barry Kenny. Corporate Communications Manager for Irish Rail, spoke to Beat News about the tragic incident:
"It is a very sad and tragic situation on board the 7:50 from Waterford to Heuston", he said.
"Shortly before it departed a customer experienced a medical emergency."
He continued: "Despite the help of staff and customers on board, and the rapid response of an ambulance crew who met the train en route, sadly it was confirmed that he had passed away."
Passengers still looking to go to Dublin have since been accommodated on the 11 am service.
