How about a Christmas dinner crossed with a chipper?

A food truck in Donegal is now selling a 'festive chip' — a portion of homemade chips topped with smoked ham, stuffing, Brussels sprouts, cocktail sausages and gravy.

Clare Johnston and her husband, Seán run "Family Style" a food truck in Meenaleck, Donegal offering pizzas, burgers, sandwiches, salads and of course, chips.

Speaking to Beat, Family Style owner Clare said the 'festive chip' is proving very popular:

"We have made it an annual thing-we bring it out in November and run it right up to Christmas. It's a meal in itself -a lot of people will order a pizza and then a festive chip and share it between two."

The 'festive chip' meal is €7.50 per portion, and though most customers order all ingredients, some opt to exclude certain contentious veg:

"People order it without the sprouts sometimes," says Clare "It's really divided down the middle with sprouts. People either love them or hate them. Even myself and my husband, I'm a lover and he loathes them.

Clare remarked that no one has been bold enough to add garlic mayo to the mix yet, but that "it may be a game changer."
