Waterford Gardaí have launched an investigation following the discovery of a suspect 'device'.
They were alerted to the incident in the Sycamores Estate on the Dunmore Road at approx 3:30 yesterday afternoon.
An area was sealed off and a number of residents were removed from their home.
The Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit was called to the scene and removed the device - which was not viable - for further examination and the scene was declared safe.

Gardai are seeking any witnesses that might have noticed anything suspicious in that area in the last day or two.
