An investigation has been launched into the death of an 8-year-old Irish boy in the US.
The child became trapped under a boat after it capsized near Boston last Wednesday, he was later taken to hospital but died on Saturday.
It's understood the family are originally from Clonmel in Tipperary but have been living in Massachusetts for some time.
The Department of Foreign Affairs says it is aware of the case and is providing consular assistance.
