A father and son were assaulted by two intoxicated men early on Saturday morning in Irishtown in Kilkenny.
The father was punched in the eye which resulted in a cut above the eye and was taken to St Lukes Hospital for treatment. The son was also slapped in the face.
The Gardai are investigating and are appealing for anyone with information to contact Kilkenny station.
