Compensation paid out by the personal injuries assessment board fell by almost a quarter last year.
The number of accidents were 43 per cent lower than 2019.
Motor claims were down 31 per cent, public liability claims were down by 27 per cent, while employer liability claims were down by 28 per cent.

Personal Injuries Assessment Board chief executive Rosalind Carroll says Covid-19 was a key factor in the drop in claims:
"Our report today shows two things," Carroll said.
"The first thing is they show a huge reduction of volume. That's driven a lot by Covid.
"In the last number of years there's been a lot less cars on the road, pubs and restaurants have been shut, etc.
"That has led to a huge reduction in accidents, therefore in the amount of claims."
