An 80 cent per-hour increase in the minimum wage is set to be approved by Cabinet tomorrow.
It means the minimum wage will rise to €11.30 an hour from the start of next year.
The move is part of a recommendation from the Low Pay Commission.
It will be brought to Cabinet in the morning by Tánaiste Leo Varadkar.
It's understood to be among a number of recommendations from the Commission to tackle the ongoing cost of living crisis.
Earlier this year, the government announced proposals to introduce a living wage for all employees starting next year.
The living wage will be set at 60% of the median wage in any given year.
The national minimum wage will remain in place until the 60% living wage is fully phased in, in 2026.
Leo Varakdar will bring the proposal to cabinet in the morning as the Dáil resumes.
