IT Carlow has submitted plans for a brand new sports campus.
The 30 acre facility would include new playing fields for GAA, soccer and rugby as well as a brand new running track, and would be located one kilometre south of their current campus.
Vice President for Corporate Affairs at the college Cormac O'Toole says sporting success there means they need to expand.
"It is fantastically exciting - we gave out 85 sports scholarships and 8 elite scholarships and the standard of athletics, GAA, rugby, soccer and the individual sports is such that there is a huge demand on our elite and recreational gyms."
