There's no doubt that Love island has gripped the nation.
The show has invaded twitter timelines and made headlines on a daily basis. Even the Taoiseach has spoken out about it.
And it appears that not even An Garda Síochána are immune to the power of Love Island.
In a post on twitter this morning, the Gardaí posted a photograph of a truck pulled over by a squad car and wrote:
"I GOT A TEXT! This islander was cracking on with someone on the phone while driving.
"He promised he would do no Maura of this asked us if we would cut him some Flack.
"We decided to stay true to ourselves and couple him up with an FCPN."
For those wondering what an FCNP is, it is a fixed charge penalty notice.
Looks like there's no love lost there...
