Huge number of people presenting as homeless in Tipp

Over 370 people presented themselves as homeless in Tipperary in last year.

Of these, 157 were under the age of 25 AND 112 were aged between 26 and 35.

The figures are included in the council's recent draft annual report for 2016, which details the establishment of a local Homeless Action Team to care for people presenting as homeless.

Inter-county protocols have been established in the South East region in relation to access to regional hostels for persons presenting as homeless in Tipperary.
