HSE warning over fraud nurses after incident in Tipperary

The HSE is reminding people that Public Health Nurses will only call to a home when an arrangement has been made with the patient to do so.

That comes after an unexpected caller called to a house in the South Tipperary area claiming to be a nurse.

The matter was brought to the attention of the Gárdai.

The organisation is also reminding people that all representatives of the HSE also carry identification.

They advised that in the event of any doubts, callers to houses should be asked to present their valid HSE ID and that any concerns should be reported to the Gárdai.

Vulnerable and older persons are advised to ensure that their personal alarm devices are working and are worn at all times.

Family members are also advised to assist in checking that such personal safety devices are functioning.
