Daft have released their latest housing report which sees big increases in the South East
The cost of buying a home in the 5 Counties has now increased on average by over 9%
As part of their quarterly housing report, Daft.ie has broke down what it'll cost you across the 5 counties.
The price of a house in waterford city has gone up 15% while it's 8% in the county.
The lowest rise was in Tipperary where it's gone up 6%
Elsewhere, it'll cost you 10% in Wexford, 11% in Carlow and 14% more in Kilkenny to buy a house.
The average price of a house in the South East is:
Waterford City: €148,298
Waterford County: €189,774
Kilkenny: €192,821
Carlow: €156,260
Wexford: €176,527
Tipperary; €151,878
Across the country, there has been an increase of 7.5% on transaction rates.
Meanwhile house-hunters can apply for the 'help-to-buy' scheme online from today.
Designed for first time buyers of new homes, it'll give them 5 per cent back on the price of their property.
The grant coincides with two new reports showing a nationwide surge in house costs.
Daft.ie claims that prices have gone up by more than a third over the last three years.
While MyHome.ie says it had just 20-thousand properties for sale on its Website by the end of the 2016.
Daft's Ronan Lyons, says the lack of supply is pushing up prices:
"If you compare it to December 2014, two years previously, there were almost 30,000 properties available for sale across the country.
So that's a fall of almost a third in the space of two years. That's why prices are rising, a lot of demand but not a lot of supply."
