The Minister of State for Food, Forestry and Horticulture has officially launched the Kildalton Open Day.
Prospective students have the chance to view the facilities and range of courses on offer at the Piltown, Co. Kilkenny grounds.
It is the largest land based college in Ireland and has been providing courses in horticulture since 1972.
At this morning's event Andrew Doyle TD said, "horticulture as a career is a real option, I think we've seen very encouraging signs with regard the turf grass for the golf courses, amenity crops for the landscaping, also on fruit and veg, protected and open crop.
The range of experience and training that can be garnered here by a student is really something important.
