A man is being detained at Waterford Garda Station following an aggravated burglary in city.
He was disturbed by the homeowner who managed to keep him there until the Gardai arrived.
At 1:45 in the early hours of this morning a call was made to Waterford Garda Station.
A man returned to his home at 4 Catherine Street in Waterford city to find a Burglar in his kitchen.
The Burglar had ransacked the Kitchen area and grabbed a Knife and brandished it at the homeowner when he entered the kitchen.
He managed to keep the Burglar inside until Gardai arrived.
The 43 year old suspect surrendered to Gardai and threw the knife aside before being arrested for Aggravated Burglary and removed to Waterford Garda Station where he is being detained.
No one was injured during the incident.
