The historic convictions of men for being bisexual or gay are set to be disregarded.
That's according to a progress report released by Minister for Justice Helen McEntee.
Homosexuality was decriminalised in Ireland 1993, and the 'Working Group' has been determining if convictions made prior to then can be dismissed.
The group strongly recommended a 'disregard' rather than 'destruction' approach to relevant records, so that they can be preserved for research purposes.
