An Post has announced the closing dates for posting standard letters and packages this Christmas, and the cut-off for U.S.A. is approaching fast
The Irish Mirror has shared the following official deadline dates from An Post
December 22nd: Cards and Parcels to Republic of Ireland
If you are sending cards or parcels to an address in the Republic of Ireland 22nd December is the latest date for posting. This is the cut-off day for all post, including letters and parcels sent by express post or registered post.
December 20th: Cards and Parcels to Northern Ireland
As above, all post to Northern Ireland needs to be with An Post by December 20th if delivery before December 25th is desired. This includes cards, parcels, express post and registered post
December 19th: Cards and Parcels to U.K. and Europe
All post to the United Kingdom and Europe needs to be sent by December 19th. This relates to cards, parcels, express post, registered post and international/ courier services.
December 12th: U.S.A.
The cut-off for sending letters to the U.S. is December 12th, but larger items like parcels need to be sent by December 7th. Similarly, the cut-off for express post is December 12th, and all registered post must be sent by December 7th. The final date for international/courier service is December 16th

To ensure delivery by 25th December, international post must be sent by December 7th. The cut-off for express post is slightly later (December 12th) and the deadline for international /courier service is December 16th.
A spokesperson for An Post has said "While these dates are the last dates of posting, this year is like no other and we advise customers to post early". It has been reported that An Post deliveries may also be affected by Royal Mail Post strikes this month
An Post mail delivery and collection will not be in operation from December 24th to 28th inclusive. The service will re-open December 29th.
