Met Eireann's warning of possible damaging gusts and flooding in some areas.
Alan O'Reilly from Carlow weather outlines what we can expect:
"The gusts are really picking up early this morning, and they'll continue to move across the country."
"Worst areas hit will be the West Coast and the South Coast."
"Coasts should really be avoided today."
Flooding
The weather is already having an effect on parts of Clonmel in County Tipperary this morning.
Water levels on the River Suir rose signifcantly last night resulting in Convent Road Bridge being impassable.
As a result, access to the Dungarvan Road is via Old Bridge.
Motorists are also being advised that Knocklofty Bridge is also impassable so traffic coming from Ardfinnan is via Marlfield.
Tipperary County Council says the situation is being monitored by the Flood Response Team.
