There have been calls for further investigation after a young boy was crushed by a fairground ride in the UK.
14-year-old Mackenzie Croxford-Cook died after becoming trapped by a ride at a fairground in Dover.
It is reported that on August 3rd last the young boy, along with friends, gained access to a closed fairground.
After using the trampolines and dodgems at the empty park, tragedy struck when Mackenzie attempted to climb the 'Superstar' ride at the park before being crushed.
Mackenzie's heartbroken family lead a flood of tributes to their "thoughtful and loving boy" at the time, with many praising the boy's natural ability to make "everyone around him smile."
During a hearing at Maidstone's County Hall on Monday, October 24th, it was heard that MacKenzie and his friends had gained access to the ride outside the hours of operation.
BBC News reports that Coroner Katrina Hepburn requested additional time to facilitate a request for additional information regarding protective fencing and monitoring at the ride along with by-laws relating to such.
The inquest has been adjourned to an unspecified date.
