Is there anything worse than getting caught out in the elements over Christmas and being totally unprepared?
It might have been relatively settled over the past few days compared to the absolute drenching we had in previous weeks, but this weekend is set to be a real mixed bag for the South East.
Met Eireann says that Friday night will be gusty with rain setting in early on before clearing to mist later on. Best to bring the brolly just in case!
Meanwhile, Saturday is set to be the best of the bunch with plenty of sunshine and only a small possibility of light showers. Our advice is to is to wrap up, however, as a polar vortex passing over the country will see a significant drop in temperatures.
For those heading out on Saturday night, conditions are set to deteriorate with heavy rain spreading from the southwest - hitting Waterford and Kilkenny after 11pm. Best to make a run for it if you're hailing a taxi!
Sunday, the last proper shopping day before Christmas (we're not acknowledging that the shops are open on Christmas Eve... ) looks to be the worst day of the week. Persistent rain and fog will pass over the region, clearing to cloudy conditions that night - just in time for Santa's arrival!
So, to wrap up: on Friday night, you'll be bringing a brolly, Saturday a warm coat before swapping for a raincoat when the rain sets in, and on Sunday you'll need all of the aforementioned accoutrements.
Christmas down under, anyone?
