Gourmet snails are becoming a popular starter for Christmas dinners - that's according to Gaelic Escargot, a Carlow firm that farms the critters.
They say that snails are slowly but surely making their way onto festive menus across the country.
Snail meat is low in fat, and also contains plenty of calcium, iron, and magnesium.
Gaelic Escargot is based in Garryhill in County Carlow.
