Grow it Yourself are planning to mark Ireland's centenary celebrations on November 26th
GIY, which has it's headquarters in Waterford, is teaming up with SAP Landscapes for the event.
They plan to plant 100 orchards in just an hour at their sites all around the country on the day.
Community Manager with G-I-Y Karen O' Donoghue is hoping to see many families getting involved.
"We will have at least 100 communities coming together with their shovels and their spades to help plant 100 orchards in just an hour."
GIY was started by founder Michael Kelly who set up the first GIY group in Waterford in 2008.
The group is now a worldwide organisation and opened a brand new headquarters in Waterford City earlier this year.
Anyone who would like to be involved in the event can visit giyinternational.org or the GIY Facebook page
