Gardai reveal one driver's awful attempt to alter tax disc

Gardai have revealed how one driver tried, but failed miserably, in an attempt to fool them with an altered tax disc.

Galway officers stopped a driver holding a mobile phone while driving today. On examining the vehicle, they discovered the motorist's DIY tax disc.

The incident was revealed on the gardai's popular @GardaTraffic Twitter account this evening.

Gardai are reminding drivers that altering a tax disc is fraud and will result in stiffer penalties in court.
