Gardaí are questioning a man in relation to a car hijacking outside Carlow town on New Year's Day.
It happened just after 1pm when two men approached a car on the Tullow Road.
One opened the driver's door and threatened him by saying he had a gun.
The culprits took the car but crashed it a short time later before fleeing on foot through nearby fields.

One man was arrested following a cordon and public help and is being questioned at Carlow Garda Station.
