Gardaí in Kilkenny are investigating an alleged assault on a woman in the city last night.
It's understood the incident happened at the entrance to Church Lane at around 11:30pm.
A Garda cordon has been in place at the scene since last night as officers examine the scene.
Beat News understands that the woman was taken to St Luke's Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses, particularly those who were in the area of Church Lane last night.
