It's alleged a number of gun shots were fired at a halting site in Waterford City late last night.
The incident happened at Bilberry at around 11.20pm.
Gardai went to the site and the area was searched.
A number of checkpoints were set up.

Two people were arrested in connection with the incident and were questioned by gardai.
No one was injured.
Garda investigations are continuing.
