Gardaí in Kilkenny are appealing for witnesses to an assault in the city.
It happened at a licenced premises on High Street at 11:30pm on Friday night.
The person received a number of punches to the face, resulting in a black eye and a number of gashes on the forehead.
Gardaí are asking for anyone who witnessed the assault to contact them at Kilkenny Garda Station.
