Gardaí in Waterford are continuing their appeal for information in relation to a murder investigation in the city.
The body of 31 year-old Samantha Walsh was discovered in an apartment on Thomas Street on Friday evening.
Superintendent Chris Delaney from Waterford Garda Station has made a public appeal.
"We have commenced a murder investigation here at Waterford Garda station and we are investigating the full circumstances around the death of Samantha Walsh."
"We are appealing in particular to any members of the public who may have any information in respect to this crime to contact us."
"We'd ask people to err on the side of caution and to give us all information that they may have in relation to it, whether they think it's third party info or not."
The superintendent made a particular appeal to those who may have been in the area at the time, and those familiar with the victim.
"In particular we're looking for persons who were in the area of Thomas Street and the streets around it on Thursday night, 27th April 2017; that's late on Thursday night to the early hours of Friday morning, 28th April."
"I'd also like to make an appeal to people who knew Samantha Walsh. Perhaps she may have spoken to them about herself or her life, so they should feel fully confident to ring the incident room at Waterford Garda station or the Garda confidential line at 1800 666 111."
"We can assure people that any such information will be treated in the strictest of confidence."
"We are following many lines of inquiry and the investigation is progressing well, but we still need public assistance in relation to it."
If you have any information, call Waterford Garda station on (051) 305300 or the Garda confidential line on 1800 666 111.
