Gardai and the Road Safety Authority have been visible and active in recent weeks promoting new road safety measures.
The official Twitter account @GardaTraffic revealed today was a busy day in the South East and beyond.
Earlier this afternoon, they reported that they had stopped a car in Waterford with no insurance disk.
When the car was stopped, Gardai discovered that the driver was unaccompanied on a learner permit. After completing a breath test, the driver was arrested for drink driving.
