Four children end up in cardiac arrest after falling through an icy lake

In the UK, four children are in hospital after falling through an icy lake and ending up in cardiac arrest.

West Midlands Police haven't confirmed the numbers of those involved - but it's been reported there may have been up to six youngsters in the frozen water in Solihull.

Emergency teams have continued to search the lake overnight.

Cameron McVittie is from the West Midlands Ambulance Service:

"All 4 children who were rescued were taken on blue lights to hospital."

"2 were taken to Birmingham Children's Hospital and 2 children to Heartland's Hospital in Birmingham."

"All 4 children were in a critical condition on their arrival."
