Feel Good Friday Round-Up - Katie from Wexford

Feel Good Friday Round-Up - Katie from Wexford

Every November, we spread positive vibes across the South East with Feel Good Friday.

For the five Fridays in November, we focus the spotlight on a deserving group or individual living right here in the region.

Our first recipient was Katie Murphy from the Ballagh in County Wexford. She was nominated by her friend Lisa Jackman who wrote this email to us in October:

"Katie is a power house who does it all. She's currently teaching part time, completing a masters and being wife and mam to 3 wonderful children all at once👏👏 Her eldest son has significant additional needs, which I can see at times to be very isolating for Katie. I look up to her because she has never given up but keeps going and growing even though I know how difficult life can be for her at times. I know at the moment she could really do with some cheering up and I’d love to see her with a big smile from a nice surprise!! 😊"

As is the case with every Feel Good Friday, Katie knew absolutely nothing about the surprise. On Beat Breakfast last Friday, we sent Shonagh Lyons to her doorstep in Co. Wexford to spring the surprise...

Our first bombshell was tickets to see Pink at the RDS next summer with thanks to MCD.

We then transported Katie in luxury with thanks to Byrne Chauffeur Service to The Loft Boutique and Shoe Style International where both stores helped her pick out a new outfit and shoes for her meal at Sebz Restaurant, Barntown.

Where to next? After the buzz of some well-earned retail therapy, it was off to Riverwood Wellness Spa at the Ferrycarraig Hotel where Katie was treated to their blissful Riverwood Signature massage and facial!

Refreshed, Katie was joined by her friend Lisa for afternoon tea at the Ferrycarrick Hotel. Delish!

"I guess you just have to look at the positive things rather than sitting there feeling sad and sorry, we just have to keep fighting", said Katie at the end of a long day packed with treats, pampering and surprises.

We laughed, we cried, but most of all we made Katie's day one to truly remember.
