ESB Networks has issued a warning to people to charge their phones this evening as "significant lightning" approaches the South East coast.
Met Eireann has issued an Orange Thunder Warning this evening for all South East counties, warning of a high risk of thunderstorms this evening with a risk of localized flooding.
The orange alert is valid until 6am on Thursday.

ESB Networks suggested in a tweet this evening that people should "give their phones a quick charge" as the lightning may cause problems later.
Power outage updates will be provided by ESB Networks at esbpowercheck.ie
The lightning storms are expected to continue through the day tomorrow.
Met Eireann says "heavy thundery rain will affect many parts of the country tomorrow morning. There will be a slow clearance from the west in the afternoon."
