An earthquake has killed four miners in Poland who became trapped thousands of feet underground.
According to the US Geological Survey, the quake rose to a magnitude of 4.4 on the Richter scale.
Rescue workers are searching for nine possible survivors at the site in Polkowice, a provincial town in south-west Poland.
Poland's prime minister, Beata Szydło, is visiting the mine.
Meanwhile, President Andrzej Duda has expressed his sympathy, stating:
"I am convinced that together with the government, we will make every effort to care for the families, [while] I hope that those in the mine will be saved."
According to The Guardian, three rescued miners were in a stable condition with head and back injuries earlier today.
