Leading healthcare company GSK Ireland is today officially opening a state-of-the-art energy plant at Dungarvan.
The €8 million euro biomass facility is only the second of its kind in the country and will reduce the site's carbon emissions by 33 per cent.
Site Director Brian Fox says it brings GSK's total investment over past 24 months to €23.2 million euro, showing a major commitment to the town and its people.
"Our purpose really is to be one of the very best sites in GSK and build a sustainable business in Dungarvan.
These investments give us that sustainability both from an environmental point of view, which is very important here in the sunny South East and in terms of cost"
