The holder of May 7th's €8.5 million winning National Lottery ticket has finally come forward to claim their prize.
The numbers 1, 31, 35, 39, 42, 46 and bonus 45 saw the lucky player take home the €8,508,720 prize.
The anonymous ticket-holder reached out to the National Lottery in recent days after players in South Kilkenny were urged to check their tickets to claim the life-changing win.
A spokesperson for the National Lottery has confirmed that the winning ticket was purchased at Blanchfield’s Centra, located on the Main Street in Mooncoin by someone living in Co. Kilkenny.
It's the second time in three years that a Lotto winning ticket has been sold at the store after the shop sold a ticket worth €6.8 million in December 2019.

Prior to a winner coming forward, shop owner Michael Blanchfield, who runs the store with his wife Alice, was shocked at hearing the news: "After having a big Lotto jackpot win just over two years ago in our store, I never thought we’d have another but especially not so soon after – I am absolutely thrilled," Mr Blanchfield said.
"This really is great news for the community as we’re a busy store, so I’m sure as soon as the news goes out, there will be great excitement around the place.
"I imagine we will see lots of our customers eager to check their tickets and wondering if they’re the big winner.
"There’s a Mooncoin player out there with a ticket worth over €8.5 million – let’s hope they check their numbers soon."
