This year's Solas Cancer Support Centre's Run and Walk For Life raised €156,000.
A record breaking 2,600 people took to the streets of Waterford on October 8th to take part in the annual Run and Walk for Life.
The event is held annually in aid of the Solas Cancer Support Centre based in Waterford which supports those affected by cancer and their families across the South East.
Ann Marie Power is the Communications and Fundraising Co-ordinator in the Solas Cancer Support Centre and she says that it's their main annual fundraising event each year.
She explained that they're an independent charity, and that the run and walk is their biggest source of income and ensures that the services provided can be maintained from year-to-year.
The money raised from this year's walk will fund their services in 2018 including support groups that facilitate classes during the week.
