€100 off an energy bill for every household next year, Cabinet confirms

Every household will get 100 euro off an energy bill in the new year.

A 210 million euro plan was approved by Cabinet this morning.

The money will be paid directly to providers and will include pay-as-you-go customers.

The measure will be applied to a bill sometime in the new year and needs primary legislation to pass in the Oireachtas first.
